DAYMAK is a renowned Canadian pioneer in light electric vehicle (LEV) technology, known for cutting-edge eBike design and constantly pushing the boundaries of green technology in Canada. With over 100 dealers nationwide, we proudly are Canada’s leading LEV developer and distributor, and one of the key players working to reduce the carbon footprint one electric vehicle at a time. But how did we get here?

It was December 2001, and young Daniela Baiocchi’s birthday was fast-approaching. Her father, Aldo Baiocchi, decided that the perfect gift would be an electric scooter, but apparently, electric scooters were not available anywhere. It was at that moment that Aldo realized he was onto something.

He imported a container full of electric scooters which ended up being seized by Canadian Customs. This was a very expensive lesson, but it was at that moment, seizure notice in hand, walking out of the port, that DAYMAK was born (if you can figure out why it is called DAYMAK, tweet at us and we might ship you something cool).

Aldo eventually managed to get electric bikes and scooters into Canada and started selling them out of his garage. This took off, and Aldo’s customers, sales, and ambition outgrew his garage. DAYMAK was eventually recognized as one of Canada’s fastest-growing companies, and many awards, recognitions, and sold electric vehicles later, Aldo is now the president of the largest eBike distributor in Canada, operating out of a 60,000 sq. ft. facility in Toronto, Ontario.

But it doesn’t stop there.

In 2021, DAYMAK launched its Avvenire program, a full line-up of six LEVs designed to invigorate the future of eco-friendly micro-mobility. This is a natural continuation of the DAYMAK story, as with the same drive and resilience we have had since 2001, we are living up to our reputation of making statements, not emissions. The Avvenire series aims to redefine mobility, by land and by air, and will start rolling-out by the end of this year.
